Website privacy
This notice covers the Vanperience project website at vanperience.de, vanperience.com and vanperience.eu (each also with www.), as well as its previous addresses camperpilot.eu and www.camperpilot.eu. It does not describe processing within the iPhone app (see the app privacy policy) or the vehicle app.

Visiting the website
The site is hosted on a Hetzner server in the EU. Delivering the pages requires processing connection data, including your IP address and requests sent by your browser. This supports secure and reliable delivery of the website, based on our legitimate interest in providing it (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
A continuous log of all page requests is not enabled for this website. Technical operation and error messages may appear in system logs. These are not used for visitor analytics; retention depends on troubleshooting and system security, together with automatic, storage-limited log rotation. There is no separately configured fixed number of days for these system logs. Hosting provider information: Hetzner privacy policy.
No analytics or advertising services
This website does not set cookies or use browser local storage. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Images, app screenshots and visual assets load from our own web server. Maps shown in screenshots are image files, not embedded live maps. Visiting the page therefore does not send a map request or device location to a map provider.
Email enquiries
Contact links open your email application; there is no contact form. When you send a message, we process your email address, message and any details you provide to handle your enquiry. Our project mailbox is hosted by STRATO. Depending on the enquiry, processing is based on steps towards a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (point (f)). Correspondence is retained as needed to handle the enquiry and meet any applicable statutory retention requirements.
Information from campsites and motorhome sites (operator e-mails and operator portal)
We ask sites listed in Vanperience to check their prices and opening hours. We took the site's business e-mail address from its website or public directories (Art. 14 GDPR: the data does not come from you but from publicly accessible sources). In future the site will be able to check and change its details through a personal link; until then a reply to our e-mail is enough.
We process: the business e-mail address, the site details (prices, opening hours, notes and an optional comment), the time of entry and, for the portal, a link identifier. The e-mail address stays on our own computer for sending; the web server does not know it. We store no IP addresses. Against abuse the portal keeps a one-way hash for at most one day. The page sets no cookies and uses no browser storage.
The purpose is to show travellers correct information. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in correct and current site data (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We write only to business addresses the site itself publishes for enquiries, at most one enquiry and one reminder per site, and we add nobody to a marketing list.
Retention: unsent drafts 90 days after the last change; links 30 days after expiry; submitted details while the site is listed in Vanperience (as evidence for the displayed values), at most twelve months after that; comments twelve months; the e-mail address while we write to the site, at the latest until you object.
No more e-mails: reply "Unsubscribe". You may object to the processing at any time and request deletion: kontakt@vanperience.com. Your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and complaint to a supervisory authority (for us: the State Commissioner for Data Protection of North Rhine-Westphalia) remain unaffected.
You can flag community ratings of your site by e-mail; we then review them under our moderation rules (terms of use, sections 7 and 8).
Your rights
Subject to the relevant legal conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability. Where processing relies on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may complain to a supervisory authority, such as LDI North Rhine-Westphalia. Please use the contact address above for requests.
Further information
This website has no user accounts, photo uploads or automated decision-making. Community features described on it are planned, not activated on this website. The older vehicle app has its own separate privacy notice. This website notice is not a substitute for the iPhone app’s privacy information.
